They say that if you smile at the world, the world will smile back at you
I hope that the outstanding scientific papers published this year by Kansas University Medical Center (regarding ovarian cancer and pancreatic cancer) and by Nanjing University (about advanced prostate cancer) on extracts provided by Natural Source International, have brought you a smile.
Thanks to the financial support of The Beljanski Foundation and CIRIS, this research showcases the smart study design and high quality of work by the scientific teams.
Let’s smile at the excellent results, and at the hope that this research brings to us—to find a more natural, less toxic answer to the epidemic of Cancer that plagues the world.
Cancer and “smile” in the same sentence? How dare I?
If you have not yet checked out those excellent papers, here are the links to each of them:
Pao pereira /ovarian cancer: “The Plant Extract of Pao Pereira Potentiates Carboplatin Effects Against Ovarian Cancer”
Pao pereira /pancreatic cancer: “Inhibition of Pancreatic Cancer and Potentiation of Gemcitabine Effects by the Extract of Pao Pereira“
Rauwolfia vomitoria/ovarian cancer: “Antitumor Activities of Rauwolfia Vomitoria Extract and Potentiation of Carboplatin Effects Against Ovarian Cancer”
Pao pereira / Advanced prostate cancer: “Pao pereira Extract Suppresses Castration- Resistant Prostate Cancer Cell Growth, Survival and Invasion Through Inhibition of NFkB Signaling”
I believe that at least the Pao pereira (Geissospermum vellosii) paper on pancreatic cancer brought a smile to Dr. Dale O’Brien (Dale O’Brien, MD, MPH is the Executive Director of Cancer Patients Alliance and the Medical Director of its Pancreatica and CancerPACT projects). Dr. Dale O’Brien has been an affiliate of the European Branch headquarters of the World Health Organization (in Copenhagen, Denmark) and the Epidemic Intelligence Service of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). He currently serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California at Davis in the Department of Medicine.
Dr O’ Brien dedicated a blog entry to our Pao pereira /pancreas paper: “Pre-clinical study of Natural Product from Amazon tree: Geissospermum vellosii“
“We are always on the lookout for interesting scientific studies related to the treatment of pancreatic cancer with alternative or complementary treatment approaches.[…] This is the kind of serious science that we love to see with alternative therapies.”
I want to say: “Dear Dr. O’ Brien, I have not had the privilege of meeting you, but thank you for your appreciation of the research. It means the world to me, and your blog entry made me smile.”
By the way, smiling is known to help release stress, boost the immune system and to keep you happy and healthy longer.
Wishing you all a Very Happy New Year that will keep you smiling all year around!
